Ludlow Food Pantry - Development
Ludlow Food Pantry Volunteers, Officers and Directors would like to
thank all of our contributors for helping us make the new 'walk-in' cooler-freezer
project a reality!
Since the inception of the Ludlow Food Pantry, community
food distribution volume has increased and standard residential refrigerators and freezers
are no longer a pratical option.
The new 'walk-in' cooler-freezer will provide a combined
food storage volume of 2,880 cubic feet. Also, by eliminating the individual residential refridgerators
and freezers currently in use, we estimate an energy consumption savings of more than
70 percent.
The new 'walk-in' cooler-freezer facility is expected to be completed
and ready for use by mid November 2008.
This new food storage capacity
at LFP is an important community development and may help to support surrounding
towns that are associated with the Food Pantry Network.
LPF extends a special
thanks to the following individuals and companies that donated equipment, labor and building
materials to complete the new 'walk-in' cooler-freezer project:
Joe Long of
Westfield - cooler-freezer wall sections
LeeJack Construction - form, foam,
rebar installation for slab

Horten
Building Supplies - foam panels for slab, walls & ceiling
Newman Electric - Cooler/Freezer electric service installation
